Candidates in the middle of Springfield, OH and Columbus, OH would be ideal.Position Summary:The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will play a pivotal role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating residents in the long-term care facility setting. They will be responsible for developing personalized treatment plans for individuals with various behavioral health conditions including mood disorders, thought disorders, and substance use disorders. They will serve as leaders in a multidisciplinary team working to enhance the overall well-being of our residents.Key Responsibilities:Conduct thorough behavioral health assessments and evaluations for residents.Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans in collaboration with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teamsPrescribe and manage appropriate medications and therapies tailored to the long-term care settingProvide counseling and support to residents and their familiesMonitor resident progress and adjust treatment plans as necessaryEducate residents and staff about behavioral health conditions and available resources within the long-term care settingMinimum Required Education:Master's or Doctorate Degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric nursingGraduation from a state-certified advance practice program specializing in psychiatry/mental healthMinimum Required Experience:At least 1-2 years of direct clinic care experience in behavioral healthProficiency in working with both adult and geriatric populations.Specialty NP experience in Behavioral HealthStrong interpersonal and communication skillsPrevious experience in psychiatric nursing before transitioning to NPDedication to evidence-based practice and continuous professional developmentPreferred Experience:3+ years of experience as a psychiatric providerPrevious experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility, though not mandatoryLicenses/Certifications:Must have a certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Psychiatric Mental Health (PMH) as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)Must have an unrestricted license to practice as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in the state of OhioMust have a valid DEA number and unrestricted DEA license in OhioMust have a state-issued Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) in OhioMust be registered with the state Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) in Ohio where direct services will be providedNo suspension/exclusion/debarment from participation in federal health care programs (e.g. Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP)Maintain credentials and licensure with all major insurance companies and licensing boards with the assistance of Provident credentialing staffOther Skills Required:Experience in delivering high-quality, patient-centered careProficiency in documenting and navigating electronic health records (EHR) independentlyAbility to maintain strict client confidentialityAbility to serve as a representative of PHP, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration and discretion in all interactions with team members.Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to work effectively on multidisciplinary teamAbility to read, analyze and interpret general and professional documents.
