This expert perspective provides both direct clinical care and support. Care aspects include assessment, clinical management, communication, crisis prevention, regulatory readiness, and evidence-based care practice. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promotes a safe environment.ExperienceOne year of psychiatric or behavioral health experience in the medical field orOne year of experience as a clinical nurse in a medical inpatient/emergency department setting working with pediatric and adolescent patient populationsPreferred QualificationsBachelor of Science in nursing2-3 years of clinical nurse experienceExperience in the emergency room settingKnowledge of normal/abnormal growth and development throughout the age continuumPrevious experience with crisis management and de-escalation techniques and strategiesExperience with and knowledge of the assessment, management and treatment of behavioral health patientsEducationGraduation from an accredited school of nursingLicensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure CompactCompletion of Marcus Crisis Prevention Program as a user within 90 days of hireBasic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employmentKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to organize and manage multiple tasks.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Skills in coordination, delegation, and team collaboration.Abilities to use critical thinking and quickly make decisionsAbility to show accountability for leadership and actions in an autonomous roleAbility to remain calm and manage verbal/physical responses in stressful situationsAbility to establish rapport and use therapeutic communication with othersJob ResponsibilitiesPractice (Caring for the Patient)Provide direct patient care in assessment, management, and treatment plan development for behavioral and mental health patients in crisis in the Emergency Department and other practice settings.Collaborate with Emergency Department and appropriate practice settings in providing medical stabilization and treatment according to scope of practice and training.Integrate values and language preferences into healthcare delivery through a culturally sensitive process.Utilize clinical decision support tools and resources to recognize issues, prioritize care, and modify plan of care as needed.Ensure that appropriate documentation regarding care interventions, observation, medication administration, and monitoring is in place in accordance with policy and process identified.Participate in transfer of care;
