Veterinary Technician

The Veterinary Technician (VT) is responsible for maintaining excellent patient care and operational productivity by helping the Veterinarian leverage their time and efforts to meet the needs of their clients and patients. The VT relieves the Veterinarian from technical work and administrative detail to achieve greater levels of efficiency in daily practice, facilitating and streamlining communication from the operating room to front office staff and clients. Essential Qualifications High school diploma or GED At least 18 years of age at the time of hire At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience Ability to properly restrain animals safely Knowledgeable about veterinary medical terminology and medication Can lift 50 lbs to waist height Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching Strong organizational skills Excellent communication and listening skills Self‑motivated and team‑oriented A Day in the Life Assist veterinarians: prep patients for surgery, administer anesthesia, take x‑rays, gather lab specimens, monitor patients post‑op, restrain animals during exams Obtain samples: gather stool, blood, and other samples for testing Testing: test samples and help interpret results Administer medications: give patients accurate dosage of prescribed medications, anesthesia, vaccines, or other medications as directed by the DVM Client communication: obtain medical information from clients and provide proper instruction on animal care under the veterinarian’s plan of care Assist the Client Service Specialist team when needed Purr‑worthy People Care We prioritize the well‑being of our staff, offering comprehensive health benefits and a supportive work environment.
