We are looking to hire an experienced Production Supervisor at our ingredient plant in Merry Hill, NC. The Production Supervisor will manage the daily operation of a chemical manufacturing plant to ensure timely completion of customer demands while ensuring safety, quality and company goals and policies are followed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and Plant Manager to establish and achieve specified goals and objectives of day-to-day operations of plant production
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of all production operations and demands of the business
• Review all batch sheets for accuracy and bring to the attention of plant manager for any deviations that may compromise the product
• Communicate with production floor as well as Quality, Developmental and Maintenance departments
• Work with Production and Maintenance in scheduling and work execution
• Operate within accordance of cGMP’s and company requirements
• Ensure shift change overs are performed professionally and accurately
• Perform and enforce the highest standard of safety and environmental. Must lead by example and stress the importance to everyone on the floor
• Participate in EHS initiatives that will contribute to compliance of State/Federal regulations and improve existing Company programs
• Assist in filling out safety incidents that occur and continuously work to ensure a safe workplace environment
• Assist in writing and reviewing JSA, SOP, and work instructions
• Ensure operators are trained and following company’s quality and food safety policies
• Assist in creating/completing necessary CAPAs
• Seek to continuously improve processes to help make them more efficient
• Aid in the evaluation of operator performance and assist in any disciplinary action as needed
• Recognize the successful efforts of employees to increase productivity, reduce costs, and continuously improve work processes
• Manage weekly timesheets and operators time off
• May make recommendations for personnel actions (hire, fire, promotion, discipline, conflict resolution and training)
• Support on-call rotation covering weekends and nights as needed
• Other duties in support of company objectives

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Associate or 4-year college degree in a science related field
• 5 years of chemical plant operating experience, particularly in a shift environment
• High Hazard Coordinator qualified (or ability to receive certification)
• MS excel, Word and SAP Knowledge
• Experience in a PSM covered process

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to perform physical outdoor work in a variety of ambient conditions, including climbing ladders and lifting up to 55 pounds.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) with the ability to effectively interact and communicate with all departments and levels of the organization
• Proactive, self-motivated and demonstrate ability to handle multiple projects, changing priorities and frequently heavy workloads which may require work in addition to normal working hours
• Think clearly and solve multifaceted problems in the field with personnel of various degrees of skill levels, education and training
