JOB TITLE: Faculty - Nursing REPORTS TO: Dean of the School of Health Sciences CLASSIFICATION: 9-month Faculty FLSA Status: Exempt

SUMMARY:

Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified nursing faculty member to join our School of Health Sciences. Reporting to the Dean of Health Sciences, the successful candidate will create dynamic and inclusive learning environments for a diverse student body, demonstrate clinical and academic expertise in nursing, and contribute to student success through high-quality instruction and mentorship. The faculty member will support nursing program initiatives at all levels, including our Associate Degree in Nursing and LPN to RN programs, and will be expected to participate in curriculum development, assessment, and student advising.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide both classroom and clinical instruction Teach a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester (fall and spring), including classroom, lab, and clinical components, with a primary emphasis on clinical Embrace varied teaching modalities , including on-campus, synchronous, asynchronous, hybrid, and Titan Flex (HyFlex). Actively advise students and support their academic and professional growth. Assist in the recruitment and retention of nursing students. Collaborate with the Associate Dean of High School Academies and Dual Enrollment and respective high school champions to implement the High School Academy nursing model . Develop, revise, and assess nursing courses and program outcomes in accordance with ACEN standards and best practices. Pursue and manage programmatic grants and designations relevant to nursing education. Collaborate with four-year institutions, healthcare systems, and industry partners to enhance learning opportunities and identify articulation and employment pathways. Participate in college and departmental committees , initiatives, and governance. Foster a student-centered environment that supports academic excellence, clinical judgment, and professional development . Respond promptly and professionally to student needs and concerns . Maintain competency in the nursing field through ongoing professional development and clinical engagement. Demonstrate and maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders. Support college-wide administrative responsibilities and strategic planning initiatives . Contribute to the broader mission of the college by participating in student, business, and community outreach activities .

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities. This role is critical to meeting the standards set by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing, which requires nursing faculty to: Hold a current, unencumbered RN license in Pennsylvania. Possess a master’s degree in nursing (required); a doctoral degree in nursing or a related field is preferred. Have a minimum of two years of recent clinical experience in nursing. Demonstrate preparation in teaching and learning principles, including curriculum development and evaluation—either through formal education or planned professional development. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse professional community and student population.
