Driver Manager - Transportation - CDL-A (Required)

Job Description Job Description Universal Logistics of Virginia, a wholly owned subsidiary of Estes Express Lines, Inc., is seeking a highly organized and experienced Driver Manager to join our transportation team in Taylor, TX.
This role is responsible for overseeing driver operations, ensuring efficient scheduling and communication, and supporting drivers as needed. The ideal candidate will hold a valid CDL-A license and be capable of stepping in to assist with driving responsibilities when necessary.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday (with occasional weekend work as needed)
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and support a team of drivers, ensuring efficient daily operations
Coordinate routes, schedules, and driver assignments
Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs)
Conduct regular meetings with drivers and leadership
Ensure compliance with company policies and transportation regulations
Step in to drive when necessary to support operations
Maintain accurate records and reports using Microsoft Office tools
Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal staff
Qualifications:
Valid CDL-A license (required)
(2 years) professional driving experience with clean driving record.
Prior management or supervisory experience in transportation/logistics preferred
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Comfortable leading meetings and managing team performance
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
