Discover your full potential – join us to advance your career while leaving a lasting legacy.Essential Job Functions:Support and lead engineering design for energy-related and land development projectsLead or support site plan development and zoning approval processes for renewable energy projectsPrepare and support stormwater management and erosion & sediment control (ESC) plans and approvalsPerform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, including floodplain evaluationsDesign and support implementation of stormwater infrastructure, BMPs, and green infrastructure solutionsCoordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including planners, environmental scientists, and project managersMentor and support junior and mid-level engineering staffEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.Additional duties as required.Required Qualifications:B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering or related field8–10 years of experience in engineering design for energy and/or land development projectsProfessional Engineering (PE) license preferred or ability to obtainStrong understanding of:Stormwater design (quality and quantity)Hydrology and hydraulicsFloodplain analysisExperience with stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and regulatory approvalsWorking knowledge of land development principles (grading, utilities, site layout, wetlands, traffic, etc.)Proficiency with industry software such as:HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, BluebeamStrong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and work both independently and within a teamMust possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with renewable energy projects, particularly utility-scale solarExperience leading municipal site plan and zoning approvalsExperience working within Virginia and neighboring statesVirginia Dual Combined Administrator certification (or ability to obtain)Physical Requirements:Ability to perform office-based engineering work with occasional field visitsAbility to review detailed plans and technical documents for extended periodsWork Environment / Environmental Factors:Office-based with occasional field/site visitsHybrid work flexibility may be available depending on project needsExposure to outdoor conditions during site inspectionsLife at Tetra Tech:The perks of working at Tetra Tech include:Comprehensive and market-competitive benefits.
