MA Medical Assistant / Correctional Health Technician

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Shifts: 3 x 12-hour shifts weekly (Nights)
Commitment: Minimum 13 Weeks
Openings: 2 am and 1 pm


Pay Rates :


Local: $22/hr.


Travel with housing: $18/hr.


Travel no housing: $16/hr. (taxable) + $320/week (non-taxable)

Service Description:
Performs duties within the Medical Assistant scope of practice to support quality patient care under the direct supervision of medical or nursing personnel. Responsible for accurate documentation in the electronic health record. Prepares patients for examination and treatment, obtains patient histories, vital signs, and chief complaints. Supports clinical and administrative workflows within a correctional health setting.


Responsibilities and Duties
• Prepare patients for exams, treatments, and procedures
• Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints
• Administer injections, immunizations, and TB skin tests per protocol
• Perform venipuncture and basic lab testing
• Transcribe provider orders and coordinate follow-up appointments
• Maintain exam room readiness and supply inventory
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in EHR systems
• Support front and back office operations including scheduling, scanning, and filing
• Utilize Microsoft Office for documentation, tracking, and communication


Supporting Documentation and Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED
• Certificate of completion from an accredited Medical Assistant program (per A.R.S. §32-1456 or applicable exceptions)
• Current completed fit testing for N95 respirators
• Current First Aid Certification
• Minimum one year of recent experience as a Medical Assistant or CHT
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
