Under the direction of the Information Technology Manager I (ITM I), the Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I), Information Security Engineer I is responsible for assisting in implementing, maintaining, monitoring, and managing the security of the Information Technology (IT) environment. This role involves documenting, implementing, and monitoring IT security controls to effectively protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Covered California’s information assets and to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, industry, and contractual security requirements. Duties may include access to information containing protected enrollee information, including federal tax information, protected health information, and personal identifiable information. Application Deadline: Monday, 5/30/2025 Required Documents: Application, Resume, statement of qualifications Qualifications of our Ideal Candidate: 4 years of professional general information technology experience performing technical and/or analytical tasks for computer systems or services. 1-2 years experience or education in security engineering evaluation, testing, implementation, and maintenance of security solutions for domains such as Cloud Security Management, Data Protection, Vulnerability Management. 1-2 years experience or education in security incident monitoring and response tools and techniques. 1-2 years experience or education in technical security risk management and assessments. Passionate about information security and stays abreast of industry best practices, latest solutions, and emerging threats.
