Smith is headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with approximately 12,000 employees at operations in the United States, Canada, China, India, Mexico, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.Primary Function The Shipping Associate is responsible for preparing and executing daily shipping activities, including picking, packing, labeling, staging, and coordinating outbound shipments to ensure accuracy, compliance, and on-time delivery.ResponsibilitiesPrioritize and organize daily workloadPrepare order detail sheets for packingPick required materials and request materials as neededPack orders according to order detail sheetsCoordinate with pack line lead or coordinator when quality checks are requiredLabel cartons and pallets to meet shipping requirementsFinalize pallet/carton wrapping and stage shipments in assigned outbound locationsCoordinate daily pickups with material handlers and carriersProvide order details and Bills of Lading (BOLs) to the coordinator upon shipment pickupMaintain continuous communication with the shipping and warehouse teamVerify all outgoing shipments include required documentation (BOL, commercial invoice, pack slip, placards, PRO numbers)Identify when assistance is needed to avoid shipping delaysUtilize required safety equipment and follow safety proceduresComply with all safety, quality, and procedural requirementsMaintain a clean and organized work areaPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDMinimum of six (6) months of related work experience or trainingSAP knowledge preferred but not requiredWarehouse Management System (WMS) preferredExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a team environmentAbility to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, or holidaysCustomer service orientedStrong time management and multitasking skillsDependable and detail orientedAbility to manage priorities and multiple responsibilitiesAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periodsAbility to perform repetitive motions associated with production workAbility to safely lift and move materials as required for the positionFrequently lift and/or move up to 50 poundsOccasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistanceThe employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and with assistanceThe employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds overhead and maneuver various parts weighting up to 50 lbs.We Offer Competitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits plans which include medical and dental insurance, company-sponsored life insurance, retirement security savings plan, short- and long-term disability programs and tuition assistance.ADA Statement & EEO Statement In developing this job description care was taken to include all competencies needed to successfully perform in this position.
