Cardiac PCU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Cardiac PCU Registered Nurse to join our skilled team in providing exceptional care to patients with cardiac conditions. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively and demonstrate flexibility in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with myocardial infarctions, primary arrhythmias, and chest pain.
• Administer care to pre/post-operative open-heart and vascular surgery patients.
• Monitor and manage patients with coronary artery disease and heart failure.
• Conduct telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Perform blood and blood products administration, including cardioversion and defibrillation.
• Manage IV therapy and perform nursing procedures related to chest tubes and sternal precautions.
• Assist with breathing treatments and care for patients requiring CPAP/BiPap or tracheostomy care.
• Maintain compliance with established protocols and standards of care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Cardiac PCU or similar setting.
• Demonstrated experience in surgical telemetry, open heart surgery, and vascular management.
• Strong IV skills and experience with NIH stroke scale assessment.
• Preferred experience with VAD and TAVR procedures.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
• Epic experience is a mandatory requirement.

Work Schedule

This position requires night shifts, specifically 3 x 12-hour shifts per week, with every other weekend mandatory. Flexibility to float to similar units as needed is also a requirement.

Patient-to-Nurse Ratio

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, which may adjust to 1:5 during specific circumstances such as midnights.
