Under direct supervision, the Patient and Family Care Liaison supports daily operations of the assigned unit or department by warmly greeting and establishing relationships with patients, families, and visitors. This role facilitates effective communication between families and clinical staff, ensures adherence to patient rights and responsibilities, and provides exceptional customer service in a culturally diverse environment. The liaison manages multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting, coordinates sensitive communications, resolves issues using service recovery strategies, and maintains collaborative relationships with various hospital departments. Additionally, the role involves maintaining supply inventories, ensuring a comfortable waiting area, complying with regulatory standards such as HIPAA, and upholding confidentiality and safety protocols. Overall, the liaison acts as a professional role model, demonstrating emotional maturity, positive attitude, and integrity while enhancing the patient and family experience.

1. Completion of a high school level of course work with attainment of a high school diploma, High School Equivalency Certificate (GED) or equivalent experience.

2. A minimum of one year customer service experience is required. Experience in a hospital or health care setting is preferred.
