Shift Manager

Overview AJM Packaging Corporation, a leading manufacturer of paper products, is seeking a results oriented Production Shift Manager to join our team. The Shift Manager will manage production operations by ensuring a safe work environment, maintaining high quality standards, supervising and training staff, optimizing processes and costs, monitoring equipment and inventory, and driving continuous improvement while meeting company objectives and schedules. Shift Available Shift (Full Time - 40 hours): 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM Responsibilities Provide a safe working environment for all employees, ensuring that elements of safe manufacturing processes are followed, including PPE, GMP, LOTO, HACCP, and SQF requirements. Continually review product quality levels to meet Corporate, Plant, and SQF standards. Oversee and manage all elements of production, coordinating and managing the production staff to meet company objectives and production schedules while optimizing total cost. Supervise the production staff, including interviewing and selecting candidates, providing instruction and training, assigning work, reviewing performance, and addressing issues. Communicate actively and recognize strong performance. Accurately complete, process, and file daily logs, quality records, and related production paperwork. Review scrap levels and assume accountability for scrap. Identify areas for process improvements and propose changes backed by strong problem‑solving methods. Monitor machinery function and address or report issues as needed. Track inventory levels and submit procurement requests for necessary materials, supplies, or equipment. Provide oversight and training of production staff and coordinate transition between shifts to meet expectations and goals.
