Key Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations for assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
• Manage a full caseload focused on hand and wrist patients, conducting 60-minute evaluations and treatments
• Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines
• Design functional treatment programs that support effective return to community activities and progress patients toward discharge within an established length of stay
• Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs as assigned with appropriate supervision and evaluation
• Adhere to discipline-specific state practice acts and regulatory requirements, and actively pursue professional development through continuing education and professional activities

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Occupational Therapist licensure in good standing in the state of California
• Demonstrated hand and wrist therapy experience — this is a hand-focused caseload and experience in this area is required
• Outpatient therapy experience required; new graduates will not be considered
• Ability to perform comprehensive evaluations and develop appropriate treatment plans using clinical reasoning
• Knowledge of and adherence to discipline-specific professional codes of conduct and state practice acts

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with functional quality indicator assessments and letters of medical necessity documentation
• Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies and participation in organizational quality initiatives
• Experience supervising or mentoring therapy students in a clinical setting
