POSITION SUMMARY:

The Data Analyst I is a vital contributor to our organization that is striving to innovate,

test and develop best practices to improve patient care through patient experience

and access. As a member of the Quality Improvement (QI) Team, work is done towards

the goal to improve quality care through process efficiency, clinical efficiency and

cost. This is done by providing data sources, data extraction, analysis, benchmarking,

process improvement, and measurement of outcomes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Conduct ongoing data collection of health information obtained from a variety of

sources, including EHR, to drive clinical and operational performance improvement.

2. Extract data and use it to prepare easy to understand presentations and reports to

support clinical care teams, quality improvement, and the reporting needs of the

organization.

3. Conduct data collection, tracking and trending of Quality Improvement measures

and activities for internal operations, GPRA, HEDIS, Meaningful Use, pay-for performance initiatives, patient satisfaction survey data, grant proposals & other

reporting requirements.

4. Use informatics tools, including eClinicalWorks, Cognos/EBO,

various third party population health management software, and Excel in data related tasks.

5. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving electronic health information data

inaccuracies or anomalies.

6. Respond to data requests, organize and facilitate communication between multiple

departments, assist in project management

7. Some data entry may be required.

8. Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations, as they pertain

to position including; HIPAA, sexual harassment, Scope of Practice, Accreditation

Standards, OSHA etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

2. One year working directly with data at a midsized organization strongly preferred.

3. One year experience in healthcare – health information technology, quality

improvement, or information management.

4. Demonstrate skill in clearly presenting data.

5. Intermediate computer application with MS Office, including Excel, Outlook and

PowerPoint.

6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

7. Must have strong problem solving and organizational skills.

8. Must have excellent attention to detail, strong follow-through and ability to work

independently.
