About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: NICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: Experience with preemies (28 weeks and above) Management of central lines Respiratory management for intubated patients Experience with surgical and cardiac patients Experience with care of trach infants Description: The unit has 108 beds. Patient ratios are 1:1 to 1:4. Staffing includes RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and nurse externs. The equipment used includes nasal cannula, bubble CPAP, vents, oscillators, IV pumps, NIRS, warmers, and isolettes. The documentation systems are CPN and Meditech. Scheduling requires 3 twelve-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends and holidays. Contract staff may float to other areas before regular staff. Floating areas include PICU, pediatrics, and CICU. Patients cared for range from newborns to 2 years. Advanced skills required include procedures such as central line insertions, circumcisions, exploratory laparotomies, gastroschisis reductions, and PDA ligations. The dress code consists of royal blue scrubs. Additional information about the unit, including awards and recognitions, will be provided upon request. Consideration will be given to new equipment or technology and experienced staff.
