Field Engineer Trainee

Job Summary: The Field Engineer Trainee (EIT) will receive hands‑on training around the hydraulic fracturing (HF) wellsite, develop the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful as a Field Engineer, and prepare for a transition into the Remote Operations Center (ROC). Responsibilities Learn how to operate equipment and develop a working knowledge of operations at a HF wellsite. Work with the Field Engineers to assist with pre‑job planning. Decipher and utilize the reports that Operations relies on during each job (treatment reports, material trackers, pump schedules, etc.). Develop skills needed for technical interpretation of wellsite treatment and chemical plots. Work in the lab learning tests that occur prior to each job (water analysis, flow loops, acid titration, break tests, etc.). Learn creation and operation of the fluid systems for slick water, linear, and crosslink systems. Work under the guidance of the ROC Engineers to develop an understanding of ROC roles and responsibilities. Upon completion of a job, work alongside the ROC Engineers to learn preparation of wellsite post‑job reports and debriefings for presentation to customers and other involved parties. Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE safety training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilizing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, required (Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering discipline preferred). Willing to be assertive and speak up about unsafe work practices. Must be a critical thinker who is adept at learning new skills and able to problem‑solve proactively and reactively. Able to keep an organized computer workspace, maintain proper digital record keeping, and understand how to name files for quick access and sharing. Must be a team player who exhibits a personal commitment to learning and self‑improvement. Good written and verbal communication skills, able to effectively interact with supervisors and personnel at all levels. Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications and able to quickly learn other work‑related software. Physical Demands The role requires regular sitting, standing, or walking; use of hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; reaching with hands and arms; stooping or bending; and talking or hearing.
