Quality Inspector

Magnetic Seal, LLC (a division of Ducommun) seeks a Quality Inspector for operations in Warren, Rhode Island. Position Summary The Quality Inspector performs visual and dimensional inspections of machined components used in assembling aerospace and industrial seals. Using handheld and benchtop measurement equipment, the role ensures compliance with internal and customer dimensional requirements. Responsibilities include generating inspection records, production routers, and non-conformance reports. Essential Functions Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections on machine parts. Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and customer/industry specifications. Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) standards. Use standard measurement gages such as calipers, micrometers, and drop indicators. Verify dimensional and visual compliance with internal and customer standards. Adhere to quality system procedures and submit discrepancy reports or material review requests. Examine product specifications to meet customer requirements. Follow prescribed quality work instructions and utilize equipment as directed. Discuss inspection results with product owners and recommend corrective actions. Notify supervisors of production problems and assist in corrective actions. Discard or reject products, materials, or equipment not meeting specifications. Verify raw material lot number traceability. Handle and store Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) appropriately. Support visitor and security policies, including ITAR/EAR/CMMC/CUI protection. Handle hazardous waste per applicable regulations. Perform other assigned duties. Maintain regular and acceptable attendance. Required Skills & Qualifications Background in mechanical engineering with basic CAD understanding. Ability to read and understand technical drawings (blueprints). Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, ERP systems, and document control. Direct technical skills with equipment in the cell. Strong communication skills (verbal and written). Attention to detail and the ability to adapt to change. Honesty, integrity, and adherence to company values. Work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in teams. Strong self-motivation and efficient work processing. Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications High School Diploma or equivalent. At least one year of continuous, professional experience in quality. Physical Requirements Stand, walk, and sit frequently. Bend, squat, and kneel occasionally. Reach outward and above shoulder occasionally. Use fine manipulation frequently. Handle and grasp tools or equipment repetitively. Read and write in English. Lift or carry up to 20 lbs. frequently, up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Push or pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Maintain visual acuity for close detail, distance, and color. May be exposed to chemicals. Work Environment and Safety Equipment Manufacturing shop and inspection lab with open floor space; climate-controlled. Onsite work per business needs and standard hours. Wear required personal protective equipment constantly. ITAR/EAR Compliance This position requires access to export-controlled information. Candidates must be U.S. persons who comply with all U.S. export control laws and regulations.
