About the Position

Job Title: Med Surg RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Urology/Nephrology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience required. License: Active RN license required. Certifications: BLS required. Must-Have: Required Work Setting Experience: Medical Surgical/Telemetry. Required Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Response Skills/Experience: Telemetry and Rapid Response Teams. Required Genitourinary/Renal Case Skills/Experience: Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management and Renal failure. Required IV Therapy/Phlebotomy Skills/Experience: Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, and PICC line management. Required Medication Skills/Experience: Heparin. Required Respiratory Case Skills/Experience: Chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, and Portable Oxygen. Required Professional Knowledge and Skills: Isolation Precautions and Wound Care/Wound Vac. Cerner experience required. Description: Will work Charge as needed for this assignment. Position/Specialty: Med Surg RN - Urology/Nephrology. Average Daily Census: 23 in a 25 bed unit. First-timers accepted: Yes, provided they have a solid foundation as an RN. Weekend Requirement: Will work every other weekend. On-call Requirement: No. Clinician Float Requirement: Yes, will float to other Medical Surgical units as needed. Open to accommodating block schedule but not guaranteed. Local candidates accepted. RTO Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days. Special Requirements: Required Work Setting experience in MS/Tele and Med/Surg. Staffing and scheduling: May require floating within the hospital or to nearby facilities. Patient care includes a variety of diagnoses such as Urology/Nephrology illnesses and Medical Surgical overflow. Common procedures include Continuous Bladder Irrigation and Post Operative Care of the Kidney Transplant Patient. We are a very busy unit, frequently discharging and re-admitting patients.
