Unit Information
The department includes:
- Three cardiac catheterization labs
- A holding area for in-patients
- A radial lounge for out-patients
Staffing includes:
- A total of 7 technologist positions and 13 registered nurse positions, including the manager
- In the radial lounge, there are 5 registered nurse positions and 1 licensed nursing assistant position
Operation Hours:
- Radial Lounge: 6:00 AM 6:30 PM
- Cath Lab: 7:30 AM 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with 24-hour call coverage
Equipment used in the unit includes:
- OCT
- IVUS
- Shockwave
- Impella
- IABP
- Pacemakers
- Rota
- CSI
- Opsens
- Cath Works
- Penumbra
The Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system utilized is Sunrise / Allscripts, Mac Lab.
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates with the following skills:
- Critical care experience
- Experience with Impella and IABP
- Experience in titrating drips independently
- Current ACLS certification
Typical Procedures
Common procedures performed in the department include:
- Left heart catheterizations
- Right heart catheterizations
- Drug studies
- TAVR
- TMVR
- ASD/PFO closures
- Stents / angioplasty
- Atherectomy (Rota, CSI, Shockwave)
- Mechanical thrombectomy (INARI and EKOS)
- IABP and Impella insertions
- Mitral Clip procedures
- Temporary wire placements
- Pressure wire placements
- VSD closures
- CarioMems insertions

Dress Code
Scrubs in Ceil Blue will be provided by the organization.
Scheduling and Call
Self-scheduling is utilized for call shifts, typically requiring one day a week and one weekend per month. Call hours begin at 4:30 PM and end at 7:30 AM the following morning, with weekend call running from 4:30 PM Friday to 7:30 AM Monday.
