Telemetry RN Job Details Location: Lima, Ohio Specialty: Telemetry / Medical-Surgical Telemetry Assignment: 13 weeks Start Date: November 2, 2026 Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130–$2,250 Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts Hours: Approximately 36 hours per week; 48-hour schedules may be available Unit: 36-bed medical-surgical telemetry and stepdown unit Patient Population: Adults and older adults, including cardiac, medical, and postoperative patients Scrubs: Navy blue Telemetry Registered Nurse Requirements Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Ohio or a valid compact-state RN license At least 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required Previous acute-care hospital experience preferred Telemetry or stepdown nursing experience preferred Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required Successful completion of a dysrhythmia examination required Experience providing pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care preferred Experience titrating cardiac drips, including Cardizem, nitroglycerin, and heparin, preferred Ability to provide safe, compassionate care in a high-acuity and frequently changing environment Telemetry RN Responsibilities Perform comprehensive initial and ongoing assessments of telemetry and stepdown patients. Develop, prioritize, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care using the nursing process. Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize dysrhythmias, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition. Care for patients undergoing cardiac rule-outs, stress testing, echocardiograms, and pre- or post-cardiac catheterization monitoring. Manage patients with chest pain, congestive heart failure exacerbations, alcohol withdrawal, multisystem conditions, and postoperative needs. Administer medications safely and titrate appropriate cardiac drips in accordance with orders, protocols, and scope of practice. Monitor patients with chest tubes, PICC lines, ports, JP drains, and other standard postoperative devices. Assess hemodynamic status and provide appropriate interventions for changing clinical conditions. Collaborate with providers, care coordination teams, patients, families, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team. Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, discharge planning, and health maintenance. Promote patient safety, infection prevention, privacy, dignity, and culturally responsive care. Document assessments, interventions, responses to treatment, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record. Remain calm and adaptable during emergencies, periods of high acuity, and fluctuating workloads.
