Our Work Environment Food provided Relaxed atmosphere Growth opportunities Duties Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans (using the Highscope curriculum) and activities for children in the early childhood program. Implement patient and kind interactions with children in care. Follow licensing guidelines for discipline and child handling. Provide a safe, patient and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow. Provide a positive classroom environment using a calm welcoming tone, focusing more on children's strengths instead of negative behaviors. Complete and document (COR) child observation records, parent teacher conferences, and home visits (currently virtual). Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play-based learning. Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and enriching educational experience for all children. Mentor other staff when directed and assist director in administrative duties when needed. Monitor and assess the progress of each child, providing individualized support and guidance as needed. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding their child's development and any concerns or milestones. Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment. Skills Strong knowledge of child development theories and practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues. Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children. Ability to create engaging and stimulating learning experiences that promote curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. Flexibility to adapt lessons and activities based on the needs and interests of individual children. Strong organizational skills to effectively manage classroom materials, resources, and documentation. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of duties or skills required for the position.
