Location: Onsite 2 days/week after 90 day training period in Glendale, AZ

Position Overview
We are seeking a results-oriented Project Engineering Manager to lead the planning, delivery and execution of engineering projects. The role is focused on applying strong project management practices to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, manage schedules and budgets, mitigate risks, and deliver high-quality technical solutions that meet client and regulatory requirements. Experience with water and wastewater projects and an engineering background are desirable but not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering project delivery from initiation through close-out, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets and resource plans; track progress and implement corrective actions when needed.
• Coordinate and collaborate with internal engineering teams, contractors, clients and external stakeholders to define requirements and resolve issues.
• Oversee technical design reviews, ensuring engineering solutions meet quality, safety and regulatory standards.
• Manage contract administration, change orders, procurement activities and vendor relationships.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks; implement contingency plans and maintain project documentation.
• Provide leadership, mentorship and performance feedback to engineering and project staff; foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Ensure effective communication across project teams and with clients, including regular reporting and presentations on project status, risks and financials.
• Conduct site visits and field oversight as required to validate progress and ensure work conforms to design and safety requirements.
• Drive process improvements and implement best practices in project management and engineering delivery.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated project management experience (required), including planning, scheduling, budgeting and risk management for engineering projects.
• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline preferred but not required.
• 5+ years of experience managing engineering projects, with progressive responsibility; experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, with proven ability to influence and lead teams across functions.
• Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and Microsoft Office suite.
• Solid understanding of contract administration, procurement processes and construction management.
• Experience with water and wastewater systems is a plus (nice to have).
• Engineering hands-on experience or background is a plus (nice to have).
• Ability to travel to project sites and work effectively in both office and field environments.
