Job no: 11302 Work type: Full Time Location: Providence, Rhode Island Categories: Staff/Administration, Calendar Year (12-Month), Marketing & Communications, Hybrid Summary Creates, implements and oversees universitywide social media strategy and campaigns to encourage engagement and participation from internal and external audiences Essential Job Functions Creates, implements and manages universitywide social media programs and campaigns in accordance with university identity and communications standards Develops creative and forward-thinking initiatives in social networking, video sharing, web communities and other social media technologies to promote engagement with current and prospective stakeholders Determines social media opportunities across campuses; develops and executes strategies for both new and existing social media content production and delivery universitywide Meets with university departments to plan various social media program campaigns utilizing a full range of communication tools and determines the appropriate social media presence Creates social media content as well as a comprehensive social media strategy; creates and maintains the universitywide social media identity and ideology Establishes metrics and tracks social media initiatives to measure effectiveness and success, planning for continuous improvement on each campaign Monitors and oversees social media channels and content and manages necessary responses in a timely manner; maintains customer service levels in accordance with university standards Assists with the development and maintenance of social media content in collaboration with universitywide branding and marketing initiatives; establishes and maintains internal and external partnerships to facilitate collaborative social media campaigns Serves as a member of the Emergency Operations team and prepares and distributes crisis communications across social media channels for internal and external audiences Researches and maintains an inventory of sites related to the university and stays abreast of industry trends, changes and new technologies Monitors the departmental budget Supervises and develops the department staff, facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and managing performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established university, campus and department policies and procedures Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development Performs other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Minimum of a bachelor's degree Moderate amount of experience working in higher education social media management or other related experience Compensation: $95,000/annualized Benefits: This full-time position offers a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, paid holidays, sick time, vacation time, a 401(k) retirement savings plan, health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts (FSA), educational assistance benefits, and an employee assistance program.
