Nurse Practitioner Preceptorship Fall 2026

About the Internship Horizon is currently looking for preceptor students for the Fall 2026 Semester. Gain practical experience in mental health, rehabilitation, and addiction settings while working under the guidance of experienced providers. Responsibilities Observe and assist initial psychiatric examinations for individuals admitted to mental health, rehabilitation and recovery programs and provide follow up medication management services Observe and participate in clinical case conferences and case reviews while working with a multidisciplinary team to provide care to patients Assist with treatment planning and the prescribing of psychotropic and/or addiction medication Demonstrate clinical knowledge, communication and collaboration Qualifications Current enrollment in a Nurse Practitioner program is required . Applicants must be enrolled in an NP program that requires this internship for credit hours only. This internship is unpaid. Location Internships are offered at various locations, with placements determined based on availability. Applicants may indicate preferred locations during application. Schedule Interns receive a flexible schedule during weekdays. Availability is limited to Monday through Friday, with no weekend options. The internship commences in August2026 for the Fall 2026 semester.
