Perform Clerical Duties

Handle customer transactions and operate the cash register in a pharmacy. Manage phone calls and serve as the face of the pharmacy for incoming customers. Cashiers are responsible for greeting customers and handling their complaints. Provide customer service by answering questions and addressing customer concerns.

Process Payments

Keep the store well-stocked and clean. Process payments for all pharmacy sales using the pharmacy’s POS system. Process insurance and billing, handling any complications that may arise. Pharmacy sales include both prescription and over-the-counter items. Count the money in the cash drawer and process items.

Receive and Sell Orders

It is also their responsibility to assist the pharmacy staff in delivering quick, satisfactory service. Receive prescription orders and enter them into the computer along with customer data. Assist in packaging orders and then sell them to customers. Create and print prescription labels and package orders as well. To complete prescription orders, also check the patient's prescription authorization, particularly for refill orders. Prepare delivery bags for the delivery driver.

Assist Pharmaceutical Staff

Performs any additional tasks required to support the pharmacy and ensure quick, high-quality service to pharmacy customers. This includes administrative and clerical duties as well as some unskilled pharmacy tasks. Takes inventory, maintains pharmacy supply levels, and stocks shelves with product.

However, additional responsible work-related tasks may be assigned during duty hours, based on the pharmacy's operational needs. Flexibility and teamwork are expected as part of the role.
