Senior Concierge Care Associate (Full-Time)

Position Summary

Gares Senior Concierge (GSC) is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and service-oriented professional to join our growing team as a Senior Concierge Care Associate (CCA).  This position is located in Bergen County, NJ.

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping older adults maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life while aging in place. The Senior Concierge Care Associate serves as a trusted companion, advocate, and support resource for clients, providing personalized non-medical assistance that enables them to remain active, engaged, and connected to their communities.

Responsibilities include companionship, transportation support, appointment accompaniment, errand assistance, wellness check-ins, and mobility support. Associates frequently accompany clients during medical appointments, social outings, community activities, and daily living tasks, ensuring a safe and positive experience throughout each engagement.

While all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, GSC has a strong preference for individuals with backgrounds in Occupational Therapy (OT), Physical Therapy (PT), Geriatric Care Management, Social Work, Rehabilitation Services, Senior Living, Home Care, or other senior-focused professions.

This is a full-time position with standard business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, though occasional flexibility may be required based on client needs.

Key Responsibilities

Client Support & Companionship
- Build meaningful relationships with clients through compassionate companionship and engagement
- Provide emotional support and social interaction to reduce isolation and promote overall well-being
- Accompany clients on community outings, recreational activities, family visits, and social events

Appointment & Transportation Support
- Escort clients to medical, wellness, and personal appointments
- Accompany GSC professional drivers to assist clients who require additional mobility or safety support during transportation
- Assist clients with entering and exiting vehicles safely while maintaining dignity and comfort
- Support navigation of medical offices, rehabilitation centers, hospitals, and community venues

Mobility & Safety Assistance
- Assist with walkers, wheelchairs, canes, and other mobility devices
- Open, close, transport, and position adaptive equipment as needed
- Push wheelchairs safely and provide physical assistance within established non-medical guidelines
- Observe and report safety concerns, changes in condition, or environmental hazards

Concierge & Errand Services
- Run errands including grocery shopping, pharmacy visits, dry cleaning, post office trips, and other personal tasks
- Assist with light household support such as mail collection, organization projects, and household coordination
- Help clients manage daily activities that contribute to independent living

Communication & Documentation
- Communicate professionally with clients, family members, healthcare providers, and GSC leadership
- Document client interactions and engagement notes accurately and timely
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding client information and personal matters
- Uphold GSC standards for professionalism, compassion, and customer service excellence

Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing training programs
- Support special projects and client initiatives as assigned
- Perform other duties consistent with the mission of Gares Senior Concierge

Required Qualifications
- Experience working with older adults in a professional or personal caregiving capacity
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong customer service mindset with a compassionate and patient demeanor
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation
- Ability to travel throughout assigned service areas
- Ability to safely assist with mobility devices and push wheelchairs when necessary
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Ability to pass a background check and motor vehicle record review

Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed or formerly licensed Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Licensed or formerly licensed Physical Therapist (PT)
- Experience in geriatric care management, rehabilitation services, senior living, social work, healthcare, or related fields
- Knowledge of aging-related challenges, mobility concerns, and fall-prevention best practices
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Physical Requirements

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds regularly
- Ability to push wheelchairs and assist with mobility equipment
- Ability to enter and exit vehicles multiple times throughout the day
- Ability to accompany clients on extended community outings and appointments
