As a Senior Specialist in Direct Materials Procurement – New Product Introduction, you will collaborate between Research & Development and Manufacturing to provide strategic sourcing solutions for new Pipeline Products. General Responsibilities Collect and present market trends, competitive environment, and industry best practices to assist in sourcing strategy. Collaborate with key functions to ensure seamless execution of sourcing strategy through launch plus 2 years. Support strategic and operating objectives for procurement, including product sourcing, risk management, performance improvement, cost reduction, supplier development, and working capital improvement. Work with cross‑functional teams (Legal, Finance, Procure‑to‑Pay, stakeholders) and external suppliers. Conduct detailed market analyses to provide deep, meaningful insights. Implement procurement strategies and execute tactical procurement processes; serve as a resource for processes, procedures, and systems. Support supplier selection, ensure legal contract compliance, and manage relationships to achieve optimal performance. Enforce compliance with global procurement policies using a data‑driven business case approach. Additional Responsibilities Supplier and Supply Market Analysis. Cost Modeling and Cost Reduction. Strategic Analysis (Portfolio Analysis, Supplier Preferencing, Day One Sourcing). Financial Analysis & Reporting. Negotiation Planning and Post‑Negotiation Debrief. Sourcing (RFIs, RFPs, e‑Auctions). Risk Assessment and Mitigation. Category Team Membership. Sharing of Learnings with GSMG. Education Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Supply Chain, or Procurement. Required Experience & Skills Minimum 2+ years of relevant work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Adaptability and cross‑functional communication across multiple initiatives. Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to make concise presentations across cultures. Ability to influence external partners to achieve meaningful outcomes. Advanced data collection, management, analytics, and reporting skills. Excellent project management skills. Ability to work independently with high flexibility in ambiguous situations. Quick learner and motivation to develop technical, business, and commercial skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Preferred Experience & Skills Prior pharmaceutical industry or Fortune 500 experience. Cost modeling experience. Experience with MS Teams, SharePoint, or other collaboration platforms. Experience with PowerBI or other data analytics/visualization tools. Experience managing large datasets in Excel. Experience managing external relationships. Experience with data collection methods. Salary $96,200.00 – $151,400.00, based on education, qualifications, experience, geographic location, and business needs.
