Steak ’n Shake is seeking a Regional Facilities Manager to oversee restaurant facilities and maintenance across a multi-state region. This role is responsible for keeping restaurants safe, operational, clean, and well-maintained while managing vendors, repairs, preventative maintenance, and facility projects.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on facilities professional who understands multi-unit restaurant operations, moves quickly, and takes ownership of getting problems solved.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee facility maintenance and repairs across a multi-state restaurant portfolio.

• Manage preventative maintenance programs and ensure timely completion.
\n
• Coordinate HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, roofing, equipment, and general building repairs.
\n
• Manage contractors and service vendors, including pricing, quality, response time, and performance.
\n
• Respond to urgent and emergency maintenance issues and minimize restaurant downtime.
\n
• Conduct regular restaurant visits to identify facility needs, safety concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
\n
• Support remodels, renovations, equipment replacements, and other capital projects.
\n
• Partner with Operations, General Managers, Area Managers, Construction, Finance, and other departments.
\n
• Manage maintenance expenses, review estimates, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
\n
• Ensure facilities meet company standards and applicable safety, health, fire, and building requirements.
\n
• Track work orders, recurring issues, preventative maintenance, and vendor performance.

Qualifications

\n
• 5+ years of experience in facilities, maintenance, construction, or building management.
\n
• Multi-unit restaurant or retail facilities experience strongly preferred.
\n
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
\n
• Experience managing contractors, vendors, maintenance programs, and budgets.
\n
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across a large geographic territory.
\n
• Hands-on, highly accountable, and comfortable working directly with restaurant operators.
\n
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout the territory.
\n
• Valid driver's license required.
\n
