Consulting preferredorBachelor's Degree in Civil or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program, successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and 3 years of transmission engineering experience required. Consulting preferred or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering and 2 years of transmission engineering experience required. Consulting preferred. Strong knowledge in standard civil/structural engineering techniques and proceduresExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skillsStrong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)Strong computer skills (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM (Revit), Civil 3D, PLS, PLS-CADD, RISA-3D, MathCADD), and/or hydraulic, hydrologic, pavement, transmission analysis programsStrong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skillsEngineers in Training-EIT Certification preferred Staff Transmission Engineer - Overhead Transmission DescriptionProviding technical leadership for overhead transmission design teams on projects ranging from 69kV to 500kVMentoring, coaching, and developing team membersIndependently executing design work with engineering judgmentPerforming quality reviewsIdentifying and communicating changes to the project scope to the engineering lead and the project managerProviding input and adhering to project schedulesUnderstanding project budgetIdentifying and communicating technical risks associated with projectsIdentifying, developing, and communicating processes and tools to increase efficiency across the team and departmentCreating, improving, facilitating, and teaching training courses to the project team and departmentWill be able to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients and improve project team performanceOther duties as assigned
