Retail Team Lead (RTL)
Assist with the day-to-day operations and management of the store and donation area. To ensure efficient and cost-effective operation through world-class customer service, processing donated goods, quality control, and maintaining a productive workforce.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all management duties in the absence of Store Manager or an Assistant Store Manager, including opening/closing, all day-to-day store operations, and management of store associates.
- Adhere to working the established rotating schedule unless otherwise directed or approved by the District Manager.
- Maintain open availability to assist the store with management and leadership needs, including time frames outside of the management rotating schedule if needed.
- Help ensure the Safety Program is being managed efficiently.
- Manage and influence the team by communicating clear company daily, weekly, monthly, and annual goals.
- Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash accountabilities at POS registers/safe.
- Assist with the training and development of associates when needed.
- Help ensure the proper handling and processing of incoming donation flow in and out of the store by always utilizing proper equipment according to GWH policies and procedures.
- Accurately operate all store systems and ensure financial and statistical counts are completed (donor counts, production standards, etc.).
- Help ensure the timeliness of proper rotation of apparel and hard goods according to GWH policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as directed by management to support evolving organizational needs.

- Must be punctual, maintain a professional appearance, and perform expected duties.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Must perform all duties according to GWH safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping standards, and ensure all walkways are clear and free of clutter.
- Adheres to local, state, and federal laws and regulations
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Management experience is preferred.
- At least one (1) year of retail sales experience is preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to understand safety instructions, standard operating procedures, and workplace communications.
- Good computer skills (proficiency in Microsoft Office).
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate and interact well with a variety of personality types.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including holidays, evenings, overnight, and weekend shifts.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for current or future employment.
Key Performance Indicators (KPI): Transaction Value, Donor Value, Donors Integrity and Growth, Budget Sales vs Actual Sales, Payroll as a Percent of Revenue, Budgeted Profit vs Actual Profit, Retention Rate, Customer Service, Change Round up as a % of Transactions, Active with Zero hours TMs vs Goal, Administration - Performance management/Training, Safety, Goodwill LMS Training, etc.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Regular twisting, bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and, occasionally, lift/move items up to 100 lbs. (e.g., large bags of donations, televisions, furniture, etc.)
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Moderate indoor noise with periodic exposure to outside temperatures.
$11 per hour
