Primary Purpose Reporting to the project director, assist in oversight and planning of project execution and project management responsibilities in support of commercially driven major projects (> $1B). The candidate will coordinate and communicate with various Tallgrass and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution. Complete ad hoc assignments as instructed by the project director. Also assist with the application and enforcement of the Tallgrass PMP systems and aid in further development of Project Management processes and reporting tools to create efficiencies and improvements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist in developing long‑ and short‑term plans, including setting targets for milestones. Facilitate effective communication among team members, stakeholders, and contractors, ensuring that all parties are informed about project progress and any changes or updates. Maintain and capture (as needed) accurate and up‑to‑date project documentation including reports, meeting minutes, and other relevant records. Provide administrative support to project team members, help them stay focused on their tasks and deadlines. Serve as a point of contact for the project team to ensure team actions remain in synergy. Maintain positive relationships with vendors, internal stakeholders, and contractors involved in the project. Assist in coordinating the bidding process to ensure competitive and effective costing. Advise project lead of progress toward project objectives and develop strategies for necessary adjustments. Recognize and promote ideas that provide safer, more efficient, and cost‑effective operation. Effectively interface with customer representatives, regulators, Tallgrass staff and others as required. Perform all job duties in accordance with Federal, State, and Local Regulations. Follow all Tallgrass Policies and Procedures and best practices. Assist in preparation of presentations that communicate project proposals, descriptions and status to upper management, governmental agencies and/or the public. Ensure ongoing improvement through evaluation of current processes. Collaborate with a variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism. Maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance. Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the public. Other daily, weekly, monthly, or special projects may be assigned. Education Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant job experience. Experience / Specific Knowledge Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including but not limited to the ability to present ideas, proposals, and results to business segment leaders and to internal and external customers. Ability to organize and prioritize daily work, including tracking and managing large projects, and see projects to completion while maintaining strict confidentiality (as necessary). Must possess general understanding of how corporate policies, procedures, practices, and processes relate to the Pipeline business segment, associated business units, and internal and external customers. Understanding of basic economic analysis as it pertains to project justification. Ability to identify and establish expectations in an employee/employer relationship (subordinate/manager). Solid leadership, communication, motivation and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage projects that will include working with individuals with varying disciplines, backgrounds, and experience levels. Proficient in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook. Certifications, Licenses & Registrations Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel). Competencies, Skills & Abilities Must be able to deal effectively with people and resolve conflicts and problems. Must possess well‑developed interpersonal skills to manage, lead, and direct Tallgrass and third‑party personnel. Able to analyze financial and cost data and develop conclusions and recommendations. Must have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Well‑balanced interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communications skills are required. Must be a problem‑solver with the ability to find resolutions. Must be flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment and consistently maintain a professional and respectful demeanor/attitude with co‑workers, clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies. Must be able to perform all essential and marginal functions of the job. Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines. Ability to organize and prioritize daily work. Job level commensurate with experience and skill sets; position will be filled depending on qualifications, experience and skill sets of the successful candidate. Field activities may include walking to and amidst work and/or construction sites, climbing in and out of trenches, working around heavy equipment, negotiating rough terrain, and working in confined spaces. Overtime may be required and is anticipated. Working Conditions Will work non‑traditional hours as needed. Travel is required and anticipated as 10‑15% across a broad geographic region. Much of the typical workday is spent in an office environment, though this may change, depending upon the location assignment. For work performed out of doors, weather conditions vary and can be extreme, depending upon location assignment and may include severe seasonal changes which are primarily influenced by geographic location. Must be able to work in all weather conditions. Must be able to communicate effectively with fellow workers and demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures. Overtime may be required and extended work hours in cases of emergencies. Required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working and non‑working hours. Candidates will be required to clear a drug screen and complete a background check, including a credit report for certain positions after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
