Overview
Registered Nurse – OR (Surgery) in Fortuna, CA. Travel temporary assignment starting 10/05/2026 for several weeks with a 5x8 Days shift. Weekly pay range is $2,986–$3,073 per week with 0 guaranteed hours. This rural hospital setting requires perioperative duties as both circulating and recovering (PACU) nurse across pediatric through geriatric patients, in a unit with 3 procedure rooms and a 40-hour orientation.

Responsibilities
- Provide circulating and PACU/recovery care for perioperative cases across pediatrics to geriatrics.
- Support endoscopy procedures; ensure sterile technique and assist with endoscopy-related cases.
- Monitor intraoperative and postoperative patient status, including cardiac monitoring; respond to codes; manage electrosurgical unit use; enforce fire safety.
- Maintain accurate documentation and charting, with Epic experience preferred.
- Collaborate with respiratory services, pharmacy, and unit secretary to coordinate patient care and room turnover.
- Adhere to unit policies on patient ratios and on-call requirements; participate in call 2 days per week (includes holidays and weekends) and weekend 24-hour on-call shifts; commit to 3 of 5 holidays. Floating to nearby facilities may be required; refusal may affect hours.

Requirements
- Active compact state license in hand at submission
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
- Minimum 1 year perioperative OR experience; endoscopy experience required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Ability to work in a rural hospital OR with PACU responsibilities; willingness to participate in call shifts and potential floating to nearby facilities
- References: 2 required covering 1 year within last 3 years
