Position Title - Assistant Softball Coach

Status - Full Time

Job Summary - The Assistant Softball Coach assists the Head Softball Coach with all facets of the program; to include organization, development, and leadership of a highly competitive Division II softball program in support of the mission and core values of Tuskegee University.

Essential Job Duties - Assist the head coach with instructing players in the rules, regulations, equipment and techniques of the sportOrganize and direct individuals and small group practices and exercises as directedMaintain current knowledge and adhere to all college,NCAAand conference rules and regulationsAssist with recruitment of qualified student-athletesDemonstrate effective teaching/coaching methods and possess excellent leadership skillsAssist with games and practice preparations and planningPerform other duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training) - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/universityThree or more years of coaching experience at a high school or collegiate levelMust have knowledge o ofNCAArules and regulations

Physical Demands - May involve frequent bending, moving, lifting and carrying material weighing up to 50 pounds.Requires standing for at least 4 hours each day and working in all weather conditionsExposure to high noise levelsAdditional physicals demand includes, but not limited to physical involvement in all practices and workouts with players

Skills and Attributes - Knowledge of:NCAArules and regulations pertaining to the recruitment and retention of student-athletesIndividual and team skills with the ability to teach these skillsSkills:Must possess effective coaching techniques and skillsAbility to:Travel extensively
