Medical Oncology Nurse

Job Summary and Qualifications The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act. Utilizes therapeutic communication, maintains a safe therapeutic environment, identifies nursing problems, plans individualized care, participates in performance improvement activities, and coordinates care to foster the goals of the hospital’s mission and vision statement. When acting as Charge Nurse, the RN is responsible for day-to-day activities to ensure delivery of quality patient care, assign staff based on patient need and acuity, serve as role model and clinical resource, and respond in a timely manner to requests for information. What you will do in this role Perform nursing assessments, diagnosis, care plan, and implementation of treatment for all assigned patients. Perform initial triage evaluation and assign acuity level to patients. Administer treatments, medications, and procedures within scope of practice. Participate in coordination of care with management staff, team leader, physicians, department staff and ancillary services. Delegate duties to technical support staff while maintaining delegation accountability. Qualifications Basic Cardiac Life Support obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Registered Nurse with current TN licensure or compact licensure. ONS Chemo / Biotherapy Fundamentals Provider, or ONS Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate Provider, or Bachelor’s Degree, or RN Diploma, or Associate Degree obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
