As a Care Coordinator, you provide inbound and outbound phone support and may serve as the primary contact for payers, patients, caregivers, specialty pharmacies, site of care centers, specialty distributors, pharmacy compounders, and providers. You will facilitate a collaborative process that gauges, coordinates, and monitors patient benefits, product orders and appointment coordination to facilitate the overall patient journey, using services offered through the Patient Support Program on behalf of a manufacturer (client). The primary function is to provide unparalleled customer service to key internal and external stakeholders as a dedicated contact by coordinating resources, exchanging information, and ensuring appropriate support. Responsibilities Serve as an expert on benefit coordination and other support forms, handling healthcare provider and/or patient interactions. Act as an advocate to patients regarding eligibility, enrollment, affordability, and general access for prescribed therapy. Establish relationships, develop trust, and maintain rapport with healthcare providers and/or patients. Act as point of contact to healthcare providers for ongoing support and relationship development, acquiring and delivering detailed program information. Maintain strong working knowledge of benefits offered by all payer types, including private/commercial and government (Medicare, Medicaid, VA, DOD), with expertise in Medicare Part B. Navigate payer challenges by asking appropriate questions to obtain the necessary result. Act as liaison to client contacts and maintain records per applicable standards and regulations. Follow program guidelines and escalation procedures for complex cases. Serve as liaison between Program Management, other internal stakeholders, and healthcare providers. Provide customer service, act as brand advocate, and commit to appropriate use of resources. Communicate daily with Program Management, sharing patient status, prescriber feedback, coordination challenges, and program effectiveness. Understand disease states of patients in the program. Assess situations and intervene to obtain timely results. Maintain ethical and professional conduct concerning confidentiality and privacy. Support team morale with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Utilize resources for conflict resolution as needed. Qualifications Associate or bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience in reimbursement/insurance, healthcare billing, physician office, or related field, or a high school diploma with 5 years of equivalent experience. Call center or customer service experience with progressive responsibility. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong knowledge of prior authorization and appeals. Strong understanding of medical and pharmacy insurance terminology and reimbursement processes. Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills. Attention to detail and committed follow‑through in communication with patients, providers, and stakeholders. Strong organizational skills for a fast‑paced environment. Ability to adapt to change while maintaining program standards. Team player willing to assist colleagues as needed. Empathetic listening skills. Reliable attendance record. Strong customer service experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Physical Demands & Work Environment Requires frequent talking or hearing, long periods of sitting, typing, handling, and reaching; ability to type at least 35 words per minute with 97 % accuracy.
