Our organization is currently looking for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Family Medicine Physician to become a part of the Residency Faculty at our Family Medicine Residency program. While prior teaching experience is preferred, it is not mandatory. The selected faculty member will be responsible for providing clinical services and supervising residents in the outpatient environment of our Academic Family Medicine Center located in Brighton, with opportunities available in inpatient and obstetric settings. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in leading our obstetric curriculum, particularly if they are trained in Family Medicine with Obstetrics.

As a member of the teaching faculty, you will be expected to:

• Exhibit a strong commitment to resident education and allocate adequate time to fulfill supervisory and teaching duties.
• Serve as a model of professionalism, personal wellness, patient safety, and effective collaboration.
• Commit to providing safe, high-quality, cost-effective, and patient-centered care.
• Offer appropriate clinical supervision to trainees, allowing for graded authority and responsibility in patient care.
• Delegate aspects of care to residents based on patient needs and trainee skills to facilitate their development in knowledge, skills, attitudes, and empathy necessary for independent medical practice.
• Create and sustain an educational atmosphere that promotes resident learning.
• Encourage a professional, equitable, respectful, and civil clinical learning environment, free from discrimination, harassment, mistreatment, or coercion of students, residents, faculty, and staff.
• Engage regularly in organized clinical discussions, rounds, journal clubs, and conferences.
• Participate in annual faculty development activities aimed at enhancing skills as an educator and mentor.
• Directly observe, assess, and frequently provide constructive feedback on resident performance.
• Document evaluations of trainees at the end of each rotation or at least every three months for longitudinal experiences.
• Provide clinical care independently, as requested by the Program Director and Site Medical Director, to align with the needs of the residency program.
• Report to the Program Director regarding educational and program-related matters.

• Faculty members must possess the necessary qualifications in their field and hold appropriate institutional appointments at the teaching institution.
• Physician faculty members are required to have current certification in family medicine or a relevant subspecialty from the appropriate AMBS or AOA Board.

• Core faculty members must be designated by the program director.
• They should play a significant role in the education and supervision of residents/fellows, dedicating a substantial portion of their efforts to education and/or administration, which includes teaching, evaluating, and providing formative feedback to trainees.
• Core faculty members are required to complete the annual ACGME Faculty Survey.
• They should demonstrate scholarly activity in at least one domain annually, such as:
1. Research, quality improvement, or presentations/publications of case reports.
2. Contributions to textbooks, online reference materials, journal review/editing, or editorial boards.
3. Initiatives focused on patient safety.
4. Development of program curricula, evaluation tools, educational activities, or electronic materials.
5. Service on professional committees or educational organizations.
6. Innovations in educational programs, workshops, or webinars.
7. Presentations during grand rounds.

Core faculty members are also expected to actively participate in the program's Clinical Competence Committee (CCC) and Program Evaluation Committee (PEC) as assigned by the Program Director.
