Registered Nurse Pre-Op / PACU - Neuro Expansion

We are expanding with a new, one-million-square-foot, 15-floor, state-of-the-art facility on Cleveland Clinic Main Campus designed to elevate care for complex neurological conditions including spine injuries, epileptic seizures, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis and stroke. The Pre-Op/PACU Unit is a newly established unit in the state-of-the-art Neuro Building, designed to support patients through every stage of the surgical experience. This 36-bed unit brings together Pre-Op and Post-Anesthesia Care (PACU) into one cohesive, flexible environment. As an RN for PACU / Pre-Op, you’ll be cross-trained to support patients from surgical preparation through immediate post-operative recovery, including same-day procedures and high-acuity neuro cases requiring critical care competencies. Caregiver schedule: 7:00pm to 7:30am, no weekends, holidays, or call when working night shift. Training: Orientation on day shift; training in current Adult PACU before transition. Pay Range: $35.50/hour - $55.60/hour Minimum qualifications Experience: One-year acute care RN or military RN experience Education: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program) Licenses & Certifications: Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment if in a Critical Care area What Cleveland Clinic offers Dedicated orientation and nursing education support Opportunity to help open and shape a new Neuro Pre-Op/PACU unit Cross-training across pre-op and post‑anesthesia recovery Exposure to complex neuro surgical care in a nationally recognized academic medical center Eligible benefits may include health, dental, vision and retirement programs A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide pre‑operative and post‑anesthesia nursing care for adult neurology surgical patients. Monitor airway, respiratory, neurological, cardiac and hemodynamic status during immediate recovery. Assess pain, sedation level, surgical site status, neuro changes and readiness for transfer or discharge. Implement and update individualized care plans in collaboration with anesthesia, OR, PACU and surgical teams. Support safe handoffs between Pre‑Op, OR, PACU, stepdown, ICU and discharge pathways. Educate patients and families on surgical preparation, recovery expectations, discharge instructions and follow‑up care. Develop critical care competencies for high‑acuity neuro post‑operative recovery.
