Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ Years License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have Skills/Experience: Ability to provide care to all ages. Experience with ventilator, art line, foley, and chest tubes. Experience managing pediatric patients with a 1:1 ratio. Able to assist with nerve blocks. Description: This position requires recovery and holding of ventilator patients. The facility is a 295-bed acute care facility offering healthcare services for a wide service area. It employs more than 1,200 healthcare professionals and has a diverse medical staff. The unit has a patient ratio of usually 2:1, except for pediatrics or ICU level of care. Common equipment used includes ventilators, glucose monitoring devices, bladder scanners, IV pumps, and wound vacs. The role includes handling patients from various service lines such as general, robotics, bariatrics, orthopedics, urology, vascular, neuro, and GYN. The candidate must be prepared to manage ICU level patients during recovery. Weekend hours may be required at least once or twice during the travel period. Call requirements include working from 11 PM to 7 AM every other week on a day they are scheduled to work. The candidate will discuss patient types, including infants, children, elderly, etc., during the interview process. Preferred candidates will have experience with managing service lines that include different surgical procedures.
