Travel Med Surg RN Company: Fusion Medical Staffing Location: Taos, New Mexico Assignment Length: 13 weeks Qualifications Minimum 1 year recent Med Surg RN experience Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification Preferred Qualifications NIHSS certification ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification Other relevant certifications and licenses Responsibilities Provide comprehensive high‑quality, patient‑centered care in medical‑surgical and telemetry units. Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor patient conditions, and document results. Administer prescribed medications and treat patients in compliance with nursing standards. Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families. Assist physicians during diagnostic procedures and treatments, and monitor patient responses. Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. Prioritize care based on acuity and clinical needs. Adhere to infection control practices, hand hygiene, and PPE use. Advocate for patient needs and preferences. Facilitate discharge planning and coordinate transitions to home. Document comprehensive patient information in the medical record. Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Follow hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards. Essential Skills and Physical Requirements Critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication. Proficient reading, writing, oral communication, and PC skills. Ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Work effectively with diverse personnel; present a positive attitude.
