Ultrasound Technologist

Job Details Job Location: True North Surgical Institute – Duncan, OK 73533 Position Type: Part Time Education Level: Not Specified Travel Percentage: None Job Shift: Day Shift Job Category: Imaging/Radiology Responsibilities (Essential Functions) Performs general, OBGYN, and vascular ultrasound procedures. Provides imaging assistance to the radiologist for interventional ultrasound procedures. Reviews inpatient requisitions and prioritizes patient list in order of severity of illness, special procedures, special requests, and equipment availability; revises patient schedule as new procedures are requested and circumstances change. Manages procurement, storage, and routing of supplies for room preparation. Ensures reusable instruments are delivered to the appropriate department for sterilization; ensures all instruments are decontaminated and stored using appropriate processes, solutions, supplies, and equipment; completes necessary procedures for sterilization per manufacturer instructions and hospital procedures; prepares and documents sterilization process charts, logs, and records per hospital and regulatory guidelines. Reviews patient’s relevant prior imaging before exam. Interviews patient to acquire clinical history. Correlates physical findings with adjunct imaging modalities. Maintains regular attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts. Adapts assessment, treatment, and/or care methods to accommodate the physical, cultural, age-specific, and other developmental needs of each person served. Maintains professional and technical knowledge through continuing education opportunities including internal and external educational offerings. Uses assistive devices for lifting as required. Adheres to safety protocols at all times. Meets all required conditions of employment per DRH policy, including required vaccinations; performs respirator and fit testing for all team members at risk for exposure to airborne infectious diseases, droplet-producing procedures, or caustic chemicals. Implements DRH Standards of Behavior and exhibits behaviors consistent with DRH core values. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Communication skills: fluency in oral and written English. Basic computer skills, familiarity with email, related software, and EHR information tools. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to remain flexible to quickly adapt to emergent or urgent situations. Ability to adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of a diagnostic medical sonography program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required. 1 year of ultrasound experience preferred. Certifications, Licenses, Registrations American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) registration required; may obtain within 6 months of hire or transfer. American Heart Association BLS required; may obtain within 30 days of hire or transfer. Valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance required for any position requiring travel. Safety‑Sensitive Position This position is defined as a “Safety‑Sensitive” position under Oklahoma law. Applicants must meet drug‑testing requirements that prohibit testing positive for THC in any pre‑employment or post‑employment tests. Medical and religious exemptions are available upon request.
