AWS Infrastructure Services designs, plans, delivers, and operates global AWS infrastructure, supporting data centers and all servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. The Data Center Global Services team seeks a Controls Technician for Service & Construction of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) in Amazon data centers. Responsibilities Primarily work in field at data center sites and support multiple sites under Deployment and/or Service. Perform point-to-point checkouts between field devices and controllers. Conduct first‑line diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance of instrumentation associated with the BMS and EPMS. Execute network configurations and communication testing between third‑party devices and controllers or servers. Configure and calibrate sensors. Read and understand electrical schematics, control panel drawings, and basic close‑loop control concepts. Supervise low‑voltage electrical contractors who wire and install field devices. Support commissioning and system‑level testing. Provide red‑lined drawings and recommendations based on field work, and verify accuracy of as‑built drawings. Assist in root cause analysis during testing and commissioning. Ensure all personnel on site follow proper safety methodology. Work on‑call and on a rotating schedule as required, responding to after‑hours emergencies. Provide basic support concepts such as ticketing systems, root cause analysis, and task prioritization. Physical Requirements Walk jobsites on uneven terrain and work at heights, ladders, and from ladders. Regularly use hands and fingers, reach with arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally lift or move up to 49 pounds; participate in group lifts of 50 pounds or more. Work shifts longer than eight hours. Basic Qualifications High school or equivalent diploma. 1+ years of professional work experience, or experience in technical work related to computer systems and technology components. 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience, or 1+ years in data center or mission‑critical facilities. Technical school diploma or associate degree with one year experience related to industrial instrumentation/controls or equivalent electrical or mechanical operations experience. Preferred Qualifications 1+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment. ISA Certified Controls System Technician (CCST) Level I or higher certification. Basic understanding of industrial control systems, controllers, and programming, including troubleshooting of industrial controls analog, discrete and networked input/output field signals. Benefits and Compensation The base salary range for this position is 32.00 – 57.00 USD hourly (USA, OR, Boardman). The total Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
