Role Description

A Back of House Shift Leader works primarily in the kitchen with Back of House Team Members. They lead daily shift operations, directing Team Members to ensure food safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Be attentive and friendly by creating eye contact, sharing a smile, speaking with a friendly tone, and always saying "My Pleasure!"
• Pay attention to details and recover guests quickly.
• Be a problem preventer by looking ahead to spot future bottlenecks and noticing small patterns before they escalate.
• Direct, coach, and develop Team Members by setting clear expectations, managing staffing, and providing real-time feedback and corrective coaching.
• Run daily shifts by assigning positions, managing break schedules, completing checklists, answering phone calls, and directing tasks to Chick-fil-A's Brand Standards.
• Monitor food safety, food quality, cleanliness, and operational flow.

Qualifications, Skills, & Expectations

• Previous leadership or food service experience is great, but not required–we will ensure you are trained and well equipped!
• Lead by example and through influence, communicate effectively, and proactively develop others.
• Be able to stand and work on your feet for several hours at a time, and lift/carry inventory and restaurant supplies as necessary.
• Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Adhere to Chick-fil-A's appearance, apparel, and uniform standards.
• Be consistent and reliable with attendance and performance.
• Have a strong work ethic and be adaptable to the needs of the business.
• Have a friendly, positive, and customer service-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Be coachable and receptive to feedback.
• Effectively manage multiple tasks at a time and be detail oriented.
