Incumbents of the Shift Millwright position average $130,000/year

[Hourly Rate/Salary Range]: $17.43-$22.25/hour plus production bonus

Production positions are paid a base hourly rate along with a production bonus which is calculated based on the amount of quality tons produced and paid weekly.

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Kankakee is seeking qualified applicants for a Shift Millwright position. The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
• Developing and promoting safe work practices
• Maintaining daily records in a computerized maintenance system
• Applying technical knowledge to improve the conditions of all mill equipment, overhead cranes, etc.
• Utilize skills toward preventive, routine, and breakdown maintenance on all equipment

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on work experience in industrial maintenance

Preferred Qualifications:
• Mechanical/Electrical Certification or degree
