Join us at Union Rescue Mission as we bring hope and share the compassion of Christ to those devastated by homelessness.Position SummaryProvide comprehensive psychosocial care to our higher barrier guests, single men, women and families. Perform comprehensive assessments for mental health, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, domestic violence and medical needs. Provide referrals and linkage based on outcome of assessment. Engages directly with guests while focusing on complex issues that may have impacted their relationships including, but not limited to, mental health, parenting, separation, adolescence, addiction, grief/loss and trauma.Core Work PrincipleColossians 3:23 is the foundation of URM's standard for employment, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for people". The goal for each employee is to enrich and sustain a humble heart attitude; to enrich and sustain a mindset of serving others, treating them with kindness and truth; and to enrich and sustain a zealous desire for achieving work objectives without any ulterior motives or agendas.Essential FunctionsDevelop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate clinical treatment plansDevelop implement and conduct psychoeducational classes and individual and group counseling as needed and/or requestedResearch, refer, and advocate for community resources, which may include obtaining grantsRespond to crisis situations during regular business hours, as well as after; which may include child abuse and mental health emergenciesMaintain case files and recordsAttend meetings on and/or offsite with collaborative partnersParticipate in case coordination, staff /program meetings and attend staff trainings.Facilitate trainings for new and current staff in trauma informed care, domestic violence, crisis intervention and deescalationSupervise and oversee Social Service Associates, mental health interns and/or volunteers.Encourage guest of faith and growth in Jesus Christ.Commitment to URM mission, vision, and core values.Physical DemandsIn general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to allow differently-abled individuals to perform the essential functions of the job within the environment.The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted and ventilated.Noise levels are considered low to moderate.RequirementsExperience, Education and Licenses:Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited college and current registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Clinical Social WorkerMinimum of two years experience working with or serving homeless individuals is preferred.Minimum of three- five years experience working with people experiencing challenging life circumstances.Must have a current CA Driver License and the ability to be added to the company vehicle policy.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of and ability to apply mental health principles.Knowledge of human development and mental health treatment for men women and children.Ability to provide comprehensive case management and crisis intervention techniques and protocols.Knowledge of child, elder abuse, and domestic violence reporting requirements, and other legal and ethical guidelines regulating social work practice, ie: Duty to Warn, guest confidentiality.Excellent organization skillsMust have intermediate to advanced level working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and be internet savvy.Flexible schedule; willing to work on weekends and evenings as needed.Must possess excellent people and customer service skills.
