GIS Technician

• Base Pay $58,000.00 - $65,000.00 / Year

GPI seeks a motivated GIS Technician to support transportation and infrastructure projects through spatial data management, analysis, and mapping. The ideal candidate will bring 3-5 years of experience and join a collaborative team in our Bridgewater, NJ office. Salary is competitive and ranges from $58,000 to $65,000 annually, depending on experience; negotiable for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

GIS Data Management & Spatial Analysis

• Collect, process, and maintain spatial data from various sources with a focus on accuracy and quality.
• Perform geospatial analysis and geoprocessing to meet project goals.
• Develop, update, and maintain geospatial databases and metadata in compliance with established standards.
• Produce clear, detailed maps and visualizations for both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Database Management

• Maintain and update relational databases; integrate GIS data effectively.
• Query and analyze large datasets to identify trends and inform decision-making.
• Estimate time and level of effort for assigned tasks.
• Coordinate with project managers to deliver GIS-related support.
• Document procedures, workflows, and standards for consistency and clarity. Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of professional GIS experience.
• 2+ years of data management experience.
• ESRI ArcGIS Pro
• SQL (Microsoft SQL Server)
• Microsoft Office 365
• Familiarity with Python for automating GIS workflows (a plus).
• Experience with ESRI Roads and Highways (a plus).
• GISP is preferred, and ESRI ArcGIS is a plus

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
• Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
• Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
