The organization builds a comprehensive wellness ecosystem for student-athletes through prevention and performance initiatives focused on education, advocacy, and strategic partnerships. Key programs include PlaySafe Athletic Trainers, PlaySmart Opioid Misuse Prevention, PlayMindful Mental Health, and Play Connected, which address cardiac screening, heat‑related illness prevention, and concussion awareness. Team members contribute directly to safety initiatives that support lifelong health, leadership, and success for student‑athletes. Role Description This is a full‑time, on‑site Certified Athletic Trainer role based in the Greenville‑Spartanburg‑Anderson, South Carolina area. The Certified Athletic Trainer will provide daily on‑field and clinical support to student‑athletes, including injury evaluation, immediate care, and development of individualized rehabilitation plans. The role includes designing and implementing injury prevention and return‑to‑play protocols, collaborating with coaches, school staff, and healthcare professionals to promote safe participation, and maintaining accurate documentation of injuries and treatment plans. The trainer will also educate student‑athletes and families on wellness, proper conditioning, and safe training practices, and support PlaySafe USA initiatives related to concussion awareness, heat illness prevention, and overall athlete health. Qualifications Strong skills in Injury Prevention and Prevention strategies to support safe athletic participation. Proficiency in Athletic Training, including injury assessment, emergency care, and return‑to‑play decision‑making. Experience with Rehabilitation and Strength & Conditioning to design and implement effective recovery and performance programs. Current certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) and eligibility for or possession of South Carolina state licensure. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Athletic Training. Ability to work collaboratively with coaches, school administrators, healthcare providers, and families. Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills, with a commitment to youth safety and wellness.
