Job Summary The Registered Nurse is an essential member of the Patient Care Team who is responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all areas of the unit. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry. Conducts comprehensive patient assessments throughout their stay. Collaborates with patients and families to develop individualized care plans. Monitors patient progress and adjusts care plans as needed. Initiates and updates discharge plans, ensuring continuity of care. Identifies and utilizes appropriate resources for patient needs. Administers medications, therapies, and treatments according to protocols. Assists patients with personal hygiene, ambulation, mobility, and meals. Provides a safe environment, implementing proper infection control measures. Implements comfort measures and performs safe patient transfers. Uses equipment appropriately and manages crises calmly and professionally. Assesses patient learning needs and provides targeted education. Evaluates and modifies teaching plans to ensure patient understanding. Serves as 'charge nurse' delegating tasks (according to skills sets) and providing guidance, overseeing care by all staff, and acting as a resource to staff. Offers constructive feedback and coaches staff on delivering high-quality care. Assists in new staff orientation and serves as a resource person. Accurately documents care actions, observations, and patient responses. Effectively communicates with healthcare team members and reports changes promptly. Maintains clear and concise communication channels. Continuously learns and develops by attending meetings, workshops, and pursuing education. Demonstrates awareness of industry advancements and best practices. Maintains competency through self-evaluation and training programs. Promotes a safe environment by participating in safety protocols and applying safe practices including wearing required equipment. Demonstrates understanding of the organization's safety goals and their importance. Maintains required licenses, certifications, and competencies, and completes annual compliance courses on time. Supporting student learning is a shared responsibility. Every team member is expected to contribute to creating a welcoming environment and to actively assist students in their educational experience, regardless of their specific role. Other duties as assigned. Job Knowledge and Skills Must be able to speak clearly, read, write, and comprehend the English language. Making sound decisions skills are required. Acute or skilled care experience preferred. Computer skills. Mathematical required. Medical terminology skills required. Customer services skills. Education and Experience 0-1 years' experience of nursing experience preferred. 2-year associate degree or diploma (Three-year program) in Nursing. Active BCLS required. Licensed to practice profession in the State of Maine. Benefits Compensation Range: $21.55 - $29.68. Rate of pay displayed reflects the beginning of the pay scale.
