The Red Lion Team is seeking an onsite Supervisor Production (Defense) on First (1st) shift.

Summary:

Manufactures sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production costs in order to meet demand. Follows established procedures for operating various manufacturing equipment. Sets up equipment feeding, speed and temperature for optimal performance. Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing. Resolves issues related to the organization's production, machinery, processing and/or packaging operations. Responsibilities are within the Manufacturing/Operations function as a generalist or in a combination of disciplines.

Major Position Responsibilities

• Supervises production operations for assigned units or during an assigned shift.
• Supervises workers that operate production machinery, assemble items, perform quality control, or package goods for shipment.
• Notifies maintenance or engineering departments when equipment requires maintenance or repair.
• Monitors output of assigned area(s) against established schedules or quality goals. Coordinates the flow of work through the department and ensures that department has sufficient levels of inventory to meet demand and is staffed appropriately.
• Leads and directs the work of other employees and has some responsibility for personnel actions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions with concurrence from the HR Directors & General Managers.

Basic Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Associates Degree
• 3-5 years of experience
• OR equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of CNC Lathes & Mills
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Decision-making skills.
• Problem/situation analysis.
• Project management skills.
• Planning skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
• Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
• May need to stand for long periods of time.
• Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
• Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
• May be requested to work different shift.

Travel:

• Less than 25% travel likely.
