Role Description The Assistant Controller is a full-time, on-site role based in Greensboro, AL. This position supports the Controller and finance team with day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing activities. The role is responsible for preparing financial statements and management reports, assisting with budgeting and monitoring cost and inventory accounting related to hatchery, farming, and processing operations. The Assistant Controller helps ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and relevant accounting standards, and participates in audits and regulatory filings. The role also involves collaborating with operations and management to provide financial insights, improve processes, and support strategic decision-making. Qualifications Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support management reporting and decision-making. Familiarity with cost and inventory accounting in a manufacturing or food production environment is highly beneficial. Proficiency with accounting software, as well as solid skills in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools. Ability to maintain accurate records, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with finance, operations, and leadership.
